The Montreal Canadiens have obtained forward Nate Thompson and a 2019 fifth-round pick from the Los Angeles Kings for a 2019 fourth-round variety.
TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun notes Thompson has a confined no-trade clause and has agreed to waive it for a shift to Montreal.
Thompson, 34, has four aims and six points in 53 video games with the Kings this period. He carries a $1.65 million cap hit this period and is scheduled to hit unrestricted no cost company in July.
